Optimizing Cost Efficiency: Relocating complex residual circuit breaker production to VIDEOTON

To improve cost efficiency, the RCBO distributor’s customer sought an alternative to in-house assembly in the Netherlands. Following a structured ramp-up and safety stock build, production was transferred to VIDEOTON and restarted immediately, including complex PIM injection molding, automated welding, and high-volume testing operations.

Background of the transfer project

The customer assembled finished products in the Netherlands and was looking for a more cost-effective manufacturing alternative.

VIDEOTON's solution

We took over production following a ramp-up and safety-stock build phase. The line transfers were completed quickly, enabling immediate start of assembly.

This was a complex PIM operation using dedicated injection molding machines. Automated welding machines were installed, with six lines operating in three shifts, each staffed by four operators. Testing was carried out on automated test lines, also in three shifts. Current range: 6–100 A.
