From diverse ECU’s through power steering and suspension controllers to electronics for EV inverters, on-board chargers and battery management systems: Hungary is at the heart of VIDEOTON’s electronics manufacturing network – and automotive electronics has been a core competence here for more than three decades.

Székesfehérvár, Hungary is VIDEOTON’s competence centre and main manufacturing location for electronics, covering both automotive and non-automotive applications. Within this Hungarian manufacturing base, dedicated operations for automotive electronics has been serving automotive industry since 1994. With around 1,000 employees and approximately 33,000 m² of production space, it also demonstrates the scale of VIDEOTON’s automotive electronics activities in Hungary.

But VIDEOTON’s capabilities in Hungary extend well beyond conventional PCBA production. One of the Group’s key strengths is the combination of electronics manufacturing with in-house component manufacturing, engineering and assembly capabilities. This broader manufacturing background enables VIDEOTON to approach electronics projects not simply as PCBAs, but as complete manufacturing challenges.

Built for complex automotive projects

The Hungarian electronics operation is particularly suited to low- to high-volume, low- to medium-mix production, with a focus on semi- to highly automated manufacturing and projects requiring comprehensive engineering and project-management support.

This becomes especially important as automotive electronics grow more complex. VIDEOTON can support projects from early involvement and DfX through industrialization and process development to component and material purchasing, NPI & serial production and logistics. Project-specific production lines and workstations, automation and support during prototype and sample phases allow manufacturing processes to be developed around the individual product rather than forcing products into a standard production concept.

The manufacturing includes high-capacity Fuji NXT SMT lines at the dedicated automotive operation, providing necessary manufacturing capacity to support even large-scale high-volume requirements. These are complemented by automatic THT placement, multiple soldering technologies, automated conformal coating, potting, flexible back-end processes as well as box-build and high-level assembly.     Comprehensive testing is equally important: capabilities range from 3D SPI, AOI and AXI to in-circuit and high-voltage testing, functional testing and product-specific end-of-line solutions.

From established applications to e-mobility

Over the years, VIDEOTON has built manufacturing experience across a broad range of vehicle applications. Electrification has added another layer to this portfolio. Today, automotive references include electronics for EV inverters, high-voltage coolant heaters, on-board chargers and battery management units.

From PCBAs to complex electronic assemblies, VIDEOTON’s Hungarian manufacturing base combines electronics, engineering, automation, testing, component manufacturing and assembly under a broader industrial background. This combination allows the Group to take on projects where manufacturing involves considerably more than placing components on a PCB – and to support customers from industrialization through long-term serial production.
