VIDEOTON produces the 5,000th folder inserter machine
In recent years, VIDEOTON has expanded into several new high-level and box-build projects within its contract manufacturing subsidiaries. One of its key entities, VIDEOTON Enclosures & Systems (VT ES, Hungary) specializes in low to medium series assembly of industrial and prosumer products with in-house sheet metal manufacturing and powder coating. Due to the rapid growth in market demand VT ES has been involved in various successful collaborations of complete final products and complex modules. Thanks to its successful transformation from a purely sheet metal company, the Assembly Business Unit has been established as an independent unit in the company in 2016.
Approached in 2021 by Quadient, a market leader in mailing automation and digital solutions, in the context of their project to transfer their folder inserter production from the Netherlands, VT ES leveraged its proven expertise to successfully win the tender and signed an agreement in November 2021. The production transfer commenced in February 2022.
VT ES successfully addressed the complexities of the production process to start producing its first samples by summer 2022. This achievement was made possible by the rapid setup of a project team, who worked closely with the partner company, ensuring smooth cooperation throughout. The serial production of the first machine type began that autumn. Simultaneously, the company established its assembly and testing processes and completed the setup and renovation of the production facility. By the end of 2023, VT ES already accounted for a total output of 1,800 units. Each machine is made up of thousands of parts, with a significant number of sheet metal components produced in-house, while the remaining parts are sourced from a wide network of new suppliers. The efficient improvement of logistics, production, and quality assurance processes to address these complexities contributed to achieving a production volume of 350 machines per month this year.
In September 2024, VT ES and Quadient celebrated the production of their 5,000th machine. VT ES has made notable strides not only in production quantity in a short timeframe, but also in quality management, addressing all functional challenges. These improvements were emphasized by Mr. Rémi Renoux (Vice President, Purchasing & Industrial Partnerships, Quadient) and Mr. Gyula Styaszni (Managing Director, VT ES) during the celebration ceremony.
The Quadient mail automation solutions manufactured by VT ES perform critical functions for customers who deeply rely on accurate and compliant mail management processes. Quadient folder inserters significantly contribute to the automation of critical office processes, enhancing efficiency and productivity in mail management.
