Strong Challenges — VIDEOTON’s Revenue for 2025 Is Around 300 Billion HUF
Automotive and European Challenges Pose Difficulties
Gábor Széles highlighted that even though Europe has been experiencing an economic downturn for several years — particularly affecting the automotive industry — VIDEOTON achieved good performance this year and continues to stand on stable ground. Among this year’s investments, he emphasized the acquisition of Limtronik, which may help strengthen VIDEOTON’s position.
In his presentation, Péter Lakatos, CEO, focused on what he described as the “de-industrialization” of Europe, stating that in his view the continent is lagging behind in technological innovation, especially due to over-regulation. He noted that a revival driven by “creative destruction” was not yet visible, and that most competitors are already present overseas and in Asia. Nevertheless, he said that VIDEOTON has forward-looking, promising new business opportunities.
Ottó Sinkó, CEO, pointed out that VIDEOTON has emerged stronger from past decades of crises. He expressed hope that this would be true again, although challenges are expected to continue. He mentioned that the current exchange rate level is unfavorable for the group, yet real wage growth is still anticipated for VIDEOTON in 2026. Considering the factors that both hinder and support the company, he concluded that the challenges for 2026 have significantly increased.
After the presentations, Dr. András Cser-Palkovics, Mayor of Székesfehérvár, spoke with appreciation for the dedicated work of the company’s employees and emphasized VIDEOTON’s defining role in the life of the city.
Recognition and Appreciation
In the awards portion of the evening, Jenő Radetzky, President of the Fejér County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Gábor Széles, followed by awards for outstanding employees. The official part of the event concluded with the traditional champagne toast.
