Strategic high-tech manufacturing investment in Bulgaria gains support from Hungary

With an investment of EUR 2.4 million, VIDEOTON's electronics manufacturing plant in Stara Zagora is expanding its production capacity. 50% of the technology investment is provided by the Hungarian Government's Foreign Market Growth Incentive.

The Electronics manufacturing plant of "VEAS Bulgaria" in Stara Zagora - one of the four companies of the Hungarian “VIDEOTON HOLDING” ZRt. in the country - is expanding its production capacity thanks to financial support from the Hungarian state. As part of a complex site development project, a total of EUR 2.4 million was invested in modern machinery and equipment for the high-tech production. 50% of this technological capital investment is being financed by the "Hungarian Export Promotion Agency" (HEPA) under the project "Foreign Market Growth Incentive", implemented under the Industry 4.0 program with the support of the Hungarian government. A total of EUR 7,5 million was invested in the new PCBA company by Videoton, 5,1 million is a state-of-the-art renewal of a 10,000 m2 existing, unused building complex. As a result of the investment, it is expected not only to expand the production capacity of the company, which currently provides professional realization to over 250 people from the region, but also to create increasing number of new jobs.

Official guests at the investment handover ceremony, which took place in Stara Zagora on 30th May, 2025, were Ms. Katalin Bihari - Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Trade Development of Hungary, Dr. Miklós Boros - Ambassador of Hungary in Sofia, Mr. Gabor Jenei -  Executive Director of HEPA, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Stara Zagora Municipality - Mr. Radostin Tanev. After the ceremony, the official delegation visited the modern electronics production facility.

Currently, "VEAS Bulgaria” produces over 100 types of PCBs and other subassembled units for products of various global brands with industrial and household applications. As a result of this project implementation, the division in Stara Zagora has the potential to reach - in the near future -  60% of the printed circuit board assembly capacities of the Hungarian mother company, “VEAS Hungary”.

Over the last 2 years, “VIDEOTON Bulgaria” – including other than electronic manufacturing as well – has invested a total of nearly EUR 9 million in the production infrastructure and equipment modernization. Further renovation and efficiency improvement works are currently underway at VIDEOTON`s Stara Zagora site. For its investment and significant contribution to the industrial development of the city and the region, “VIDEOTON Bulgaria” has been honored with the award “Municipal Investor of the Year” 2024 in the "Large Municipality" category by the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria.
